Why I do not post a single price
A forty-five-minute headshot and a two-day brand campaign on the salt flats are both "photography". One costs what a nice dinner costs. The other costs what a used car costs. A price list that covers both is either misleading or so hedged it tells you nothing. Instead, the sections below explain what drives the number for each kind of work and give a real range. Email me a paragraph about what you need and you will have an exact quote within one business day.
What is always included
- A consultation before the session, by phone or in person.
- My time on the day, with all lighting and equipment.
- Direction throughout. You are never left guessing what to do.
- A private, password-protected proof gallery.
- Hand retouching of your selected images by me, not a lab or an AI plug-in.
- Finished files in print resolution and web resolution.
- Secure storage of your files for at least two years.
What is quoted separately: hair and makeup, styling, studio or location rental where needed, permits, travel beyond the Salt Lake valley, prints, and for commercial work, licensing.

*Ranges reflect what established professional photographers along the Wasatch Front are charging in 2026 for comparable work, from my own knowledge of the market. Cheaper exists. So does much more expensive. My quotes fall inside these ranges; where in the range depends on time, location, and how many finished images you want.
Editorial and commercial
Commercial photography is priced in three parts, on separate lines, so you can see what you are paying for.
1. Creative fee
My time, quoted as a half day (up to five hours) or full day (up to ten hours). Editorial day rates in Utah generally run $1,200 to $2,500. Advertising and brand campaign day rates run $2,000 to $5,000 and up, depending on complexity. Publications with a set editorial rate: tell me the number.
2. Production and expenses
Crew (assistant, digital tech, stylist, hair and makeup), talent, studio or location rental, permits, travel, catering on long days. Billed at cost, itemised, with no mark-up hidden in the creative fee.
3. Licensing
The right to use the images, defined by media, duration and territory. A regional brand using images on its own website and social channels for two years might pay a licence equal to roughly half the creative fee. National out-of-home or broadcast is more. Editorial licences are modest. Perpetual unlimited buyouts are available and cost what they should. I explain this properly on the brand campaign page.
Travel
Anywhere in the Salt Lake valley is included. Park City, Provo, Ogden and the Wasatch Back carry a small travel fee. Southern Utah, the salt flats and out-of-state work are quoted at cost: mileage or airfare, lodging if needed, and a travel day rate where the schedule requires one. Deposits, payment and cancellations
Personal sessions are held with a 50 percent deposit and the balance due at the session. Commercial work is 50 percent on booking and 50 percent on delivery; established agencies may be invoiced on net-30. If you need to move a date, give me 72 hours and the deposit moves with you. Weather cancellations on location sessions are rescheduled at no charge. I take card, bank transfer and, for personal sessions, payment plans if that helps.
Prints
Every finished file is delivered print-ready and you may print anywhere. If you want it done properly I offer archival pigment prints and framing through a lab I have used for a decade. Prices start around $120 for an unframed 11x14 and go up with size. A large black and white print on good paper is a different object from a screen; I will tell you honestly which images deserve one.

Yes, on every selected image, done by hand by me. It is not an add-on.
Depends on the session, and it is stated on your quote. Portrait sessions typically include eight to fifteen finished images, with more available. I would rather deliver ten excellent photographs than a hundred adequate ones.
For personal sessions, yes. Ask when you book.
Reschedule with 72 hours' notice and your deposit moves to the new date. Location sessions rained out are rescheduled free.
